Opening FIS competitions in Beitostolen get green light

The Norwegian National opening FIS competitions will go as planned 13-15 November in Beitostolen. Many World Cup teams travel to Beitostolen for early season snow and to begin their competitive seasons.This season recent warm weather has threaten the race weekend as temperatures remained to high to use the snow canons. Langrenn.com reports that after on-site meetings between the Technical Delegate, Chief of Competition, Norwegian Ski Federation and the local organizers it was been agreed that the competitions can occur on a 3.75 km long route. Snow will be brought from Filefjell and organizers are optimistic that they can begin snow making with colder temperatures arriving next week.

Friday 13 November
11:00 - 10 km classical, women
12:45 - 15 km classic, men

Saturday 14 . November
10:45 - 10 km free, women
1:15 p.m. - 15 km free, men

Sunday 15 November
9:30 - Sprint classic prologue, women and men
11:15 - Sprint Classic finals, women and men
