

FIS was saddened to learn about the passing of Robert (Bob) Dart, Chairman of FIS’ Sub-Committees for Alpine Intercontinental Cups and the Nor-Am Cup who died of a heart attack on the mountain at Winter Park (USA) on Tuesday, 17th November 2015.
Bob Dart was heavily involved in all levels of skiing. He served on numerous FIS Committees, including as the Chairman of the Alpine Sub Committee for the Nor-Am Cup. For USSA, his dedication spanned decades, both at the local level in his home state of Colorado, and on the national level, where among many other roles he was the Alpine Skiing representative on the USSA Board of Directors.
Meanwhile, Drago Grubelnik, a former FIS World Cup ski racer from Slovenia and head coach of the Bulgarian ski team was killed in a tragic car accident in Soelden (AUT) on 17th November at the age of 39.
Grubelnik raced on the FIS Ski World Cup tour from 1996-2007 as a tech specialist and participated at three editions of the Olympic Winter Games. His best career result was a third place in the slalom in Wengen (SUI) in 2000.
FIS would like to express its sincere condolences to the families and friends of Bob Dart and Drago Grubelnik whose contributions to the sport of skiing will not be forgotten.
