Engelberg is ready for the World Cup
Despite the continuing mild temperatures the organizing committee in Engelberg gave the green light for the World Cup before Christmas (December 19th and 20th) and the Continental Cup on the following weekend.
"Enough snow was produced and applied to the facility. In addition there's also a snow depot in order to provide a perfectly prepared ski jumping hill for the athletes.
The whole OC Engelberg is looking forward to welcoming the ski jumping family and motivated to carry out perfect competitions", Bernie Schoedler said in an official report presented to the International Ski Federation FIS on Thursday.
For the upcoming week, the weather forecast for Engelberg in the canton of Obwalden predicts subzero temperatures over night and temperatures above the freezing-point during the day. During the course of next week slightly increasing temperatures are forecasted.
