FIS Development Programme Alpine Training Camp 2015 comes to a close

The second period of the FIS Development Programme Alpine Training Camp from 22ndNovember – 19th December 2015 concluded successfully with the participation of 21 athletes from 14 nations*.

In the first two weeks, on-snow training took place at the Stubaier Glacier (AUT) and the Furkelpass (ITA) where slopes and snow conditions were excellent. During the first days the athletes had free skiing drills to get used to snow again after a long summer break which was followed by slalom and giant slalom training on artificial snow. In the afternoon, the athletes worked out in the gym to build up strength.

In the third week, the athletes had the opportunity to participate at different National Junior Races where they showcased their progress and collected further race experience supported by the knowledge of FIS experts.

The FIS Development Programme Alpine Training Camp provided an excellent opportunity for athletes to participate in structured and professional training sessions. With this basis and the first race experience they are well prepared for the competition season and we wish them all the best for the upcoming races.
