The 4-Hills-Tournament is not over yet, but the next big highlight of the winter is already just around the corner: The Ski Flying World Championships from January 14th to 17th.
And nothing shall stand in the way of this major event now. The green light for the championships in Bad Mitterndorf was given after the snow control of the International Ski Federation (FIS) on Monday.
Ten days before the event, there's already enough snow at the Kulm to prepare the hill and artificial snow is still produced in order to set up snow depots.
"The necessary snow layer of 30 cm was already applied to the hill profile and the basic preparation is completed. Now it's about the fine tuning", explained Juergen Winkler, head of sports in the local organizing committee.
