FIS Development Programme Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Training Camp 2016

The FIS Development Programme Nordic Training Camp for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined was staged in Villach (AUT) and Planica (SLO) from 14th-23th January 2016.

The camp was originally planned in Rasnov (ROU) but due to a lack of snow, it had to be moved to Villach and Planica. The teams stayed in Tarvisio, a town between the two jumping arenas.

A total of 18 athletes and ten coaches from six nations; BUL, GEO, HUN, LAT, SVK and ROU participated in the week-long camp. All athletes jumped the various hill sizes between HS 30 and HS 140, to prepare for the upcoming Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer and the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Rasnov. These events are the season highlights for this age group.  The camp featured video analyses, athletic activities and tips on ski waxing.

Overall, the FIS Development Programme Nordic Training Camp for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined provided an excellent opportunity for athletes to participate in structured and professional training sessions. With this basis they are well prepared for the upcoming events and we wish them all the best for their competitions.
