As has been the case for so many events across the various FIS disciplines this season, challenging weather conditions in Europe have forced yet another schedule change, this time to the Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup originally slated to take place on February 6, 2016.
Now rescheduled for March 4, the Arosa event has also been given a new format, and will be held as the first-ever ski cross World Cup "sprint" event. Featuring a shorter course length with a more concentrated selection of features, the sprint format is one that has been in the works for several years, and will give the ski cross World Cup another exciting option of event structure moving forward.
This will be the third-straight season the Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup tour has visited Arosa, and in both of the past two seasons the Swiss resorted has put on an entertaining, top-level competition. With the adjustments in schedule and format for the 2015/16 season, we expect this trend to continue.
