The course for this season's fourth snowboard cross World Cup staged in Sunny Valley, Russia from February 20th till 21st, 2016, looks as promising as it could be.
Course designer Alexey Ivanov and course builder Todd Main have put together a fun and fast race track of approximately 1,100 metres with an average course width of 20 metres which suits for six riders and should provide some thrilling action with close passing manoeuvres.
Coming out of the two main features of the technical start section, racers will head into the first two turns before going into a roller section which offers the first passing opportunities.
After a turning middle part the riders will have to showcase their jumping skills at the first double which will lead them into a skate bowl-style bank.
The following long traverse ends with a massive step-up jump which also will allow some passing whilst riders fight for the right line going into the last turn.
The 200 metres long home stretch, which kicks off with a butter box jump where athletes have to be very precise, should provide some drafting before things wrap up with two big table jumps of which the last one sends the riders straight into the finish.
