WADA Anti-Doping Organisation Symposium 2016 focuses on Partnering for Quality Practice

Anti-Doping Organisations (ADOs) are currently in Lausanne (SUI) for an annual meeting to share experiences and discuss the first year of applying the World Anti-Doping Code 2015.

Attended by media and WADA-accredited laboratories' representatives, the Symposium focuses on the theme of ‘Partnering for Quality Practice’. Participants follow presentations on priorities for the anti-doping community, share Code practice experiences and challenges, and discuss how science can support qualitative testing and educational programmes.

In a panel discussion and workshop, FIS Anti-Doping Expert Rasmus Damsgaard gave an overview of the implementation of education programs within an International Federation providing good practice examples from FIS’ ‘Clean As Snow’ campaign.

Meanwhile, FIS Anti-Doping Coordinator Sarah Fussek shared FIS' experience, successes and challenges of the collaboration with National Anti-Doping Agencies (NADOs) who are acknowledged as a strong partner in the worldwide fight against doping.

The Symposium offered an excellent platform for sharing expertise in various areas and the world of skiing and snowboarding will see another year with an intelligent dedicated anti-doping programme ahead to continue its efforts in protecting clean athletes and the integrity of sports.
