TV experts meet in Gothenburg
With the winter 2015/16 in the books, all thoughts and efforts are now directed towards the upcoming season 2016/17 and a workshop of international TV experts for Nordic Combined and Cross-Country Skiing continued right in this vein after the Spring Meetings in Zürich made first steps into a new season last week.
9 experts including TV directors, commentators and event organisers from six nations met in the Swedish city of Gothenburg to discuss the past winter, improvements and new ideas for the next season with the FIS Officials of both disciplines, representatives of Swiss Timing and Infront Italy. Race Directors Pierre Mignerey and Lasse Ottesen and Cross-Country Event Coordinator Sandra Spitz had topics like the TV graphics, format development and adjustments of existing procedures in the TV running orders of the World Cup events on their respective agendas.
Also a forum for the informal exchange of ideas and networking, many creative suggestions were bounced around between the representatives of YLE, NRK, ARD, ZDF, NCP, SRF and Canadian-based event company Gestev during a joint dinner and a full day of smaller workshops and bigger discussion groups.
