Zhangjiakou / Genting Resort, China - Candidate for FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships 2021

FIS is pleased to announce the receipt of the Candidature from Zhangjiakou / Genting Resort (CHN) to host the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in 2021.

By the deadline of 1st May 2016, the Chinese Ski Association has submitted its bid to host the 4thedition of the joint FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships.

The bid has been established together with the Chinese Olympic Committee and in close cooperation with the Beijing 2022 Organising Committee and Hebei Province, and the Championships will also serve an important role in preparation for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing when Genting Resort will host the Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard disciplines.

Election by FIS Council on 9th June 2016

The FIS Council will elect the Organisers of the 2020 and 2021 FIS World Championships at the 50th International Ski Congress on 9th June 2016 in Cancun (MEX). During the FIS Congress week, each Candidate will have a chance to present its candidature to the extended FIS family and discuss its plans at dedicated exhibition stands. The Candidate will also show its project to the respective Technical Committees before the final presentation to the FIS Council on 7th June.
