A European first in Moenchengladbach

Local Organisers of the Snowboard World Cup season's first big air event have announced that the competition staged in the SparkassenPark Moenchengladbach will be extended to a double World Cup event also hosting a big air contest for the Freestyle Skiing World Cup tour.

As a result, the ARAG Big Air will be re-scheduled for December 2nd and 3rd, 2016 attracting more than 130 riders and skiers from over 20 countries to compete on a 49 metres high scaffolding ramp which will carry a total of 800 qm³ produced in the snowhall Jever Fun Skihalle Neuss.

“We always had the vision to celebrate a first in Europe by hosting a double World Cup event. As it was and is a novelty, we were able to expect broad approval by all federations although we had to be in several talks in order to meet everyones expectations,“ said August Pollen of Jever Fun Skihalle Neuss who is also the responsible head of Local OC.

In addition, Local Organisers were also able to announce the first of two main music acts!

Hamburg-based HipHop legends 'BEGINNER' will take over the centre stage on Friday, December 2nd, 2016.
