A successful Cross-Country Training Camp was held from 5th-15th December 2016 in Val di Fiemme (ITA) with 31 athletes and 14 coaches from 14 nations.
Led by three experienced coaches, Alberto Rigoni, Alessio Giancola and Matteo Betta, daily training sessions focused on technique improvements in both classic and skating. The teams trained in Passo Lavaze and in the stadium of Lago di Tesero, which successfully hosted three editions of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.
The camp also featured seminars on ‘ski preparation’ and ‘medical information for athletes’ including important information on anti-doping.
Camp coordinator Sandro Pertile reported: “Besides very good training, video analysis was used as a valuable learning opportunity for the young athletes and coaches. On the last day a fun pizza evening rounded out the camp which carried not only a high level training opportunity, but also a social component by uniting young athletes from various member nations of the FDP programme. We wish them all the best for the upcoming competitions.”
Participating nations were: ARG, BIH, GRE, HUN, ISL, LAT, LBN, LTU, MKD, MNE, ROU, SRB, SVK, UKR
