



The FIS Calendar Conference, which takes place in the spring of non-Congress years, has been in full swing in Cavtat-Dubrovnik (CRO) since Tuesday, 28thof May. More than 900 delegates representing the National Ski Associations, Organisers, Ski Industry and the Media are expected to converge on the meeting venue, Hotel Croatia for more than 70 meetings taking place during the course of the week.

Longstanding USSA Vice President of Communications and former FIS Committee for Public Relations and Mass Media Chairman Tom Kelly was honoured with the FIS Journalist Award.

After he played a key role in the success of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics Winter Games (KOR), FIS President Gian Franco Kasper was named the winner of the United States Sports Academy’s 2018 Eagle Award, the institution’s highest international honour. The award was presented to Kasper by EU Business School President and USSA representative Dr. Dirk Craen in Interlaken (SUI).


Dear Ski Friends, the FIS competition season 2018-2019 has reached its successful conclusion and we are already starting preparations for the next season.

On Tuesday afternoon, a delegation of Swiss-Ski, Crans-Montana and Canton Valais submitted the Swiss bid in the Valais resort for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2025 at the headquarters of FIS in Oberhofen.

On the heels of their Alpine counterparts last week, the Nordic disciplines took centre stage with the official debrief for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld (AUT) together with the sixth Coordination Group visit for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2021 in Oberstdorf (GER) taking place today and tomorrow in the Allgäu resort town.
