The traditional FIS Calendar Conference has begun with the first meetings on Wednesday, 5th June in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Although the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi are just months away, several Nordic Combined athletes have decided to end their careers after the World Championship winter 2012/13.

The Masters Racing season in 2012/13 again saw steady progression.

FIS is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Fiala as Assistant Race Director Freestyle Ski Cross.

The Federal Council of the Finnish Ski Association elected Jukka-Pekka Vuori as its new President for the upcoming two-year period in an election that was held in Seinajoki last Saturday, 18th May. FIS Council Member Matti Sundberg, who has served as President for the past four years, declined to run for another two-year term.

In less than two weeks, the FIS Calendar Conference 2013 will take place in the tried and tested FIS meeting venue of Cavtat-Dubrovnik (CRO) starting on Monday, 3rd June 2013.

Today, 21 May, is the first day of visit of FIS representatives, which will inspect the level of preparation for the Olympic competitions in freestyle skiing and snowboard at Extreme Park “Rosa Khutor”.

As one of the many activities and events held by FIS charity partner Right to Play to help children from some of the world’s most disadvantaged communities, a golf tournament was held on 3rd May in Bad Ragaz (SUI). The charity event was a great success and raised a total donation of CHF 110’000 for a development project in Burundi.
