Meeting on Sunday, 7th June, in Varna (BUL), the FIS Council confirmed the calendar for the FIS Cross-Country World Cup presented by Viessmann for the 2015/16 season. The coming winter will feature many highlights including the tenth edition of the FIS Tour de Ski and Ski Tour Canada.

This year's FIS Calendar Conference was held in Varna (BUL) from June 3rd to 6th, followed by the spring meeting of the FIS Council on Sunday.

On Friday morning the Sub Committee for Alpine World Cup met in Varna (BUL) and over a full agenda discussed the past season and plans for the future.

Whilst World Snow Day provides Organisers and families a huge platform to connect, its January date is not ideal for everyone. For many Organisers in the Southern Hemisphere, the third Sunday in January is the middle of summer.

On 2nd June 2015, Florian Kurz was named as the new Secretary General of the German Ski Association (DSV) to replace retiring Thomas Pfüller who has held the position since 2002. Kurz will begin his new role in January 2016.

During the FIS Calendar Conference, there will be much work carried out by more than 50 FIS Committees with a full line-up of meetings.

FIS and the Finnish Ski Association are mourning the death of Ilkka Tiilikainen, who died of a sudden illness on Tuesday, 26th May.

From Wednesday June 3rd to Saturday June 6th the Bulgarian town of Varna, located on the Black Sea coast will welcome the FIS family at the International Hotel Casino & Tower Suites for the FIS Calendar Conference 2015.

Next week the FIS Calendar Conference will be held in Varna, Bulgaria. There the different Committees of the various FIS disciplines will convene from Wednesday to Sunday.

The FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Falun last winter were a success for the Swedish organizers, not only from a sporting point of view, but also financially.
