Longines Countdown clock inaugurated in St. Moritz 2017

The 2017 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships recorded yet another step milestone as the official Longines Countdown Clock was unveiled in the main town square in St. Moritz (SUI) at 432 days until the Championships.

The countdown clock has become a tradition for World Championship hosts and displays the number of days, hours and minutes until the opening of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. On hand for the unveiling ceremony were Longines Vice President Juan-Carlos Capelli, President of the St. Moritz City Council Sigi Aspiron, President of St. Moritz 2017 Hugo Wetzel, as well as FIS Secretary General Sarah Lewis together with FIS Marketing Manager Marcel Looze.

"Today’s ceremony is a key milestone for the St. Moritz 2017 Organising Committee who can continually check their timelines with the Longines countdown clock situated in the historic central square, which has seen so many great champions celebrated over the years," said Lewis. "The Longines clock serves as a continuous reminder for the community and visitors that the World Championships are getting closer and will help to generate excitement for the event."

When the clock was officially unveiled, there was 432 days 3 hours and 48 minutes until St. Moritz official welcomes the Alpine Skiing world.
