Holmenkollen to conclude the FIS Cross-Country World Cup season
Only two weeks after the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, the cradle of Nordic skiing – the Holmenkollen – is ready to host the Nordic family. From 14th March – 15th March, the athletes from all three Nordic disciplines will return to Oslo.

Mass start competitions of 30 km for ladies and 50 km for men in classic technique are scheduled. On Saturday, the focus will be on the men’s 50 km where, thanks to the intermediate bonus sprints, a large number of World Cup points can be won (six intermediate sprints yield 190 points). Martin Johnsrud Sundby is currently in the lead ahead of Dario Cologna and Petter Northug jr.

The ladies’ competition will take place on Sunday and the distance specialists will fight for a total of 160 World Cup points (four intermediate sprints). Despite the fact that Marit Bjørgen has already secured the Overall World Cup title, it should be a hard fight among the top three of Bjoergen Therese Johaug and Charlotte Kalla.

The spectators can look forward to several possible revenges from the World Championships, and there is a crowd of 100,000 expected over the two days.
