S. Kupczak wins Polish - Czech training competition
The Polish and Czech Nordic Combined teams continued their good cooperation with a couple of joint training sessions during the Czech team’s camp in Szczyrk and in a joint competition in the Czech town of Roznov pod Radhostem.
The two teams held a mass start competition that consisted of about 6 kilometres of uphill running and two rounds on a K-70 hill on the next day. Czech junior athlete Jan Vytrval was the fastest runner with a time of 35:58:0 for the demanding track. He was followed by Polish athletes Pawel Slowiok (36:09.0) and Szczepan Kupczak (36:13.2).
On the jumping hill, Kupczak showed a convincing performance and took the overall win with a total of 240.6 points in the end, followed by teammate Pawel Slowiok (228.5 p). Vytrval was the best Czech on rank three with a total of 221.3 points. Ranks four to six went to Petr Kutal (CZE), Miroslav Dvorak (CZE) and Krystian Gryszcuk (CZE).
Tomas Portyk had to sit out the competition due to stomach problems.
