COC: Summer season starts with a win of Dawid Kubacki
The break is over, now it's time for ski jumping again. The 2015 summer season of the Continental Cup starts this weekend in Kranj (SLO).
Dawid Kubacki crowned himself this summer's first winner on Saturday evening. The 25-year-old showed jumps on 109.5 m and 112.5 m and took a clear win with 292.9 points.
Behind the Pole, who stood on top of the podium in the COC for the third time, Germany's Karl Geiger finished second with 107 m and 104.5 m and 279.1 points.
On their home hill the Prevc family came in third and fourth. With 104 m in the first round and the longest jump of the day on 110 m in the final (276.3 points), Peter came in close ahead of his younger brother Cene, who jumped 105.5 m and 107.5 m and scored a total of 275.6 points.
Maciej Kot of Poland came in fifth, followed by South Korean Seou Choi, who moved up from 16th to 6th with a very good jump in the final round.
Best Austrian was Markus Schiffner in seventh, with Przemyslaw Kantyka in eighth a third athlete of Poland finished in the Top 10 in this competition. Behind the Czech veteran Jakub Janda (9th), Miran Zupancic came in tenth. The Slovene was only 30th after the first round and could barely qualify for the final.
