Linn Somskaer and Robin Norum lead the FIS Rollerski World Cup after Madona (LAT)
FIS Rollerski World Cup has passed its halfway point. After 6 out of 12 competitions Sweden tops the current World Cup ranking. Linn Somskaer and Robin Norum are the FIS Rollerski World Cup leaders after Madona (LAT).

The competition programme in Madona featured three races; sprint free, prologue in classic technique and pursuit free.

Somskar makes it 3 for 3
Linn Somskar started the weekend with a victory in the sprint ahead of Kira Claudi (GER) and Valiantsina Kaminskaya (BLR). She continued with win in the classical technique prologue and rounded out the appearance in Latvia with a third victory in the 10 km free pursuit.

Emanuele Becchis of Italy carried on great performance from the FIS Rollerski World Cup opener in Oroslavje earlier this month and powered to another sprint victory in Madona. Norway’s Ragnar Bragvin Andresen finished in 2nd as Vitaliy Smirnov powered to 3rd.
Robin Norum of Sweden conquered victory in the classical prologue but it was Sergei Dolidovich (BLR) who claimed victory in the 15 km free pursuit as he outsprinted in the three-way finish Yury Astapenka (BLR) and Ivan Solodov (RUS).

In the Overall FIS Rollerski World Cup ranking Linn Somskar (SWE) has 510 points. Valiantsina Kaminskaya (BLR) is sitting in 2nd with 310 points and Ksenia Konohova (RUS) in 3Rd with 285 points.

Robin Norum (SWE) tops the current men’s standing with 313 points. Ragnar Bragvin Anderesen (NOR) is losing 41 points. Emanuele Becchis (ITA) is down in third place with 265 points.

FIS Rollerski World Cup will take a break for a month and will enter its final phase in Bad Peterstal (GER) from 21st – 22nd August.
