COC: Klemens Muranka takes the win in Frenstat
Next stop in the men's Continental Cup is Frenstat pod Radhostem in the Czech Republic, were two competitions will be held on Friday and Saturday.
In the opening event of the weekend, Klemens Muranka stood on top of the podium. After 98 m and the third place in the first round, the Pole jumped on 97 m in the final and 233.6 points earned him his second win this summer.
Only 0.4 points behind, the second place went to Italian Sebastian Colloredo, the leader after the first round, who showed jumps on 100 m and 96 m. The 27-year-old achieved his first ever podium result in the Continental Cup.
The third place in this very close competition went to Clemens Aigner of Austria with 93 m and 96 m and a total of 230.0 points.
In his only third appearance in the Continental Cup, Tomas Vancura was the best of the Czech team in fourth. The 18-year-old of Liberec missed the podium by only 0.6 points. Best German was Daniel Wenig in fifth.
Although they weren't among the very best this time, the Slovenes once again showed an impressive team performance: Anze Lanisek (second after the first round), Gasper Bartol and Rok Justin landed on the place six to eight, Cene Prevc was tenth and Miran Zupancic eleventh.
With Cestmir Kozisek in ninth, a second Czech athlete achieve a Top 10 result in front of the home crowd.
Anze Lanisek took the lead in the overall ranking with now 290 points, ahead of Przemyslaw Kantyka (272 points) and Klemens Muranka (232 points).
