COC: Double victory for Norway

After the places one and three in the first men's COC competition in Oslo, two of the local heroes were also on the podium in Sunday's event. Daniel Andre Tande and Fredrik Bjerkeengen secured the double victory for the hosting team.

Daniel Andre Tande, who closely missed the podium on Saturday in fourth and was also on the fourth place after the first round on Sunday, won the second competition on the Midtstubakken with jumps on 104 m and 102 m and 247.7 points.

His teammate Fredrik Bjerkeengen, seventh after his first jump on 98.5 m, moved up to second overall with 104.5 m in the final and a total of 245.7 points.

With the longest jump of the day on 105 m, Maciej Kot of Poland was in the lead after the first round, but with his second jump on 94.5 m he could not keep up with the two Norwegians in the final and finished third with 245.5 points.

Jakub Janda of the Czech Republic followed in fourth, two points behind Maciej Kot. The best Austrian, Markus Schiffner, came in fifth.

The places six to eleven all went to jumpers from Norway and Poland. Andreas Stjernen (6th), who was en route to the podium in second after the first round, Halvor Egner Granerud (8th), the winner of Saturday's competition, Espen Roee (10th) and Marius Lindvik (11th) provided yet another very good result for the Norwegians in front of their home crowd.

With Stefan Hula and Dawid Kubacki in seventh and ninth, two more jumpers of the Polish team, besides Kot, achieved a Top 10 result.

The fourth and first place in Oslo were enough for Daniel Andre Tande to take the lead in the overall ranking of the Continental Cup with 405 points. Before the final two competitions of this summer season in Klingenthal early October, Dawid Kubacki is second with 360 points, Anze Lanisek follows in third with 335 points.
