The final two Continental Cup competitions of the 2015 summer season are taking place in Klingenthal (GER) this weekend.
The first win in the Vogtland-Arena on Saturday evening went to Norway's Daniel Andre Tande. The 21-year-old laid the foundation for his fourth win this summer already with the best jump in the first round on 134 m. In the final Tande then posted the longest jump of the day on 146 m and secured the clear win with 290.1 points.
"It was a very good competition. I think it was one of the fairest competitions here in Klingenthal because the wind was very calm. My second jump was very good. I think I started to prepare for the landing a bit early and could have jumped even longer. I'll try to do that tomorrow", told the winner.
Domen Prevc, the 16-year-old brother of Peter and Cene, also had two very strong jumps on 134.5 m and 142 m and finished second with 281.7 points. This was the first ever podium result in the COC for the Slovene, so far a fourth place a couple of weeks ago in Stams was his best result. "I'm very happy about this result and I'm very satisfied. I didn't expect such a good result. If I jump great again tomorrow I can achieve a Top 6 result again. Maybe then I'll get a chance to compete in the World Cup soon."
The third and fourth place went to the two Poles Dawid Kubacki and Maciej Kot, who achieved good results in the FIS Grand Prix final in Hinzenbach recently in eighth and eleventh. Kubacki jumped on 129.5 m and 132.5 m and scored 274.1 points. His teammate came in close behind with 129.5 m and 137 m and missed the podium by only 1.1 points. "It was a nice competition with almost no wind. It was fair for everyone and it was fun to jump here today", said Kubacki.
Andraz Pograjc and Jurij Tepes completed the great result for the Slovenian team in fifth and sixth, Andreas Stjernen was the second-best of the Norwegian team on a shared sixth place with Jurij Tepes.
The best athlete of the hosting team of Germany was Andreas Wank in eighth, Bartlomiej Klusek of Poland was ninth, Czech veteran Jakub Janda finished tenth.
Before this season's final competition on Sunday, Daniel Andre Tande leads the overall ranking with 505 points. Dawid Kubacki is second with 420 points, followed by Maciej Kot with 344 points.
