Norwegian team on track before the season start
A month before the Norwegian team will kick of their winter with the nationals at Beitostølen, head coach Bjørn Kåre Ingebrigtsen is very optimistic. After an eleven-day training camp in Oberhof, Germany, the team is very well on track for the upcoming winter.

„We have conducted all activities as planned with a total of 20 training session in the course of eleven days. There were just some jumping sessions that we had to move around due to the wind conditions but we had an almost perfect time in Germany. This long training camp was important in regards to the winter as a whole. The team has done a good job in the season preparation and the guys have a good foundation to build on now“, says coach Ingebrigtsen.

Next to the national team, the teams from Kollenhopp and Granåsen Skiteam were also present in Oberhof and so the text competition held on two consecutive days featured a total of more than 20 Norwegian athletes.

An extra shoutout went to team veteran Håvard Klemesen who won said test competition and also claimed the summer national title in 2015. „If you have already made all possible mistakes throughout the years, you have to learn from them sooner or later“, Klemetsen explained. Also team youngster Jarl Riiber was praised by his head coach. „Jarl is well on the way of establishing himself within the team. In addition to being among the very best on the jumping hill, he is also getting stronger on the track.“ For Olympic Champion Jørgen Graabak, the trend is also pointing upwards again after being sidelined with an injury for a long time.

The next Norwegian training camp will take place on snow around the end of October, beginning of November. Until then, the athletes will train at home with the exceptions of Magnus Moan and Håvard Klemetsen who chose to take part in an altitude training camp with the cross-country team in Val Senales. The rest of the team has the chance to feel snow under their skis for the first time in Sjusjøen, Lillehammer now.
