As the racers want to perform well at the first World Cup race of the season which actually is staged on home turf, world champion Andrea Limbacher and Co. moved from the Stubai to the Pitztal glacier.

“We had some good GS training at Stubai where we were able to work on the technique,” said Head Coach Gerold Posch.

But now it's time for some real competition-like racing.

Therefore, the ski cross squad teamed up with their fellow countrymen from the snowboard cross roster again.

“We started this cooperation two years ago, and worked closer together last winter. We have become a pretty good team.”

To please both disciplines the course was separated into sections and by responsibilities. The result: a course which works fine for ski and snowboard cross athletes alike.

“There might be a few parts and features which could have been solved differently but our project shows that you can build courses which work for both disciplines”, explained Posch.

However, the course will also serve as venue for this season's Austrian Nationals as well as for the Europa Cup on November 21st and 22nd.
