Kamil Stoch aims for the podium in the overall World Cup

At a press conference of the Polish Ski Association in Cracow, head coach Lukasz Kruczek and his top athletes spoke about their goals and expectations for the upcoming winter.

"I would be happy if this season would be even better than 2013/14, our most successful winter so far. There's a large group of athletes, jumping on the necessary level to score points in the World Cup. The recent training camp on the ice track in Oberhof showed that the transition to the different surface is not posing a problem. Next week we will be training in Wisla and from there we will go to Klingenthal", Kruczek is quoted on the website of the Polish Ski Association.

Double Olympic champion Kamil Stoch wants to be among the best again next winter, although the summer didn't go as well as he had wished. "I wanted to jump well, but I was struggling with technical problems. I was working to improve my shape in summer and now i have the feeling that I'm well prepared. In winter I will give it my all and want to make a step forward. Realistically speaking I believe that a place on the podium in the overall World Cup is possible and I will fight for that."

Besides Stoch, Maciej Kot, third in the Continental Cup this summer, is one of those athletes, who should achieve good results for Poland next winter. According to the coaches, the 24-year-old was one of the best during the training in Oberhof. "I'm happy that the coaches see it that way. What I can say is that I fell very well. The training camp went according to plan for me. The coach is satisfied and I'm satisfied as well."
