The second of last winter's overall World Cup said: "I'm very satisfied with my performance. I was able to show good jumps over the whole weekend."

Difficult conditions for Freund

After his jumps on 134 m and 132 m, overall World Cup winner Severin Freund was struggling a bit with the conditions. "It was not that easy, the wind was changing. I had completely different conditions in my two jumps. But that's pretty normal this time of year. All in all it was a very good weekend for us."

With 249.5 points, Freund came in clearly behind the best, it was a lot closer behind him. Freund scored only 0.1 points more than his teammate Richard Freitag. Freitag posted strong jumps on 132 m and 141 m and was hoping for a podium result in his home competition. Noriaki Kasai finished fifth with 136.5 m and 139 m and 247.2 points.

Kraft and Wellinger tied

Team Olympic champion Andreas Wellinger and 4-Hills-Tournament winner Stefan Kraft tied for sixth with 246.4 points.

16-year-old Domen Prevc had a very strong World Cup debut with his 243.2 points and the eighth place. Also his brother Peter compliment him for his performance: "My brother surprised me. I didn't think he would be that strong mentally. He did a really good job." The ninth place went to Johann Andre Forfang with 238.1 points. Jurij Tepes came in tenth with 232.5 points and was the third Slovene in the Top 10.

Strong Norwegians

Kenneth Gangnes and Andreas Stjernen finished 11th and 15th and made the unfortunate team competition a thing of the past for the Norwegians.

Behind Daiki Ito, Kamil Stoch was the only Polish athlete in the final in 13th and could not cover up the disappointing performance of the Polish team.

Despite all the doubts before this weekend, Simon Ammann did okay today and came in 14th.

Three Czechs score points

Like already in the team competition, record World Cup winner Gregor Schlierenzauer could not show his best jumps yet and finished 17th. His teammate Michael Hayboeck was 18th. With Jakub Janda (19th), Roman Koudelka (23rd) and Jan Matura (26th), the Czech team had three athletes in the final, but could not achieve a top result.
