

Sara Takanashi won the first individual competition of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup Ladies in Hinzenbach. She stayed ahead of local Austrian hero Daniela Iraschko-Stolz and Norway´s Maren Lundby with jumps of 93,5 and 93,0 metres and 257,2 points. It´s Takanashi´s 9th victory in a row. The Japanese has now overtaken the polish ski jumping legend Adam Malysz in the all time best list of the most World Cup victories and follows Matti Nykänen and Gregor Schlierenzauer as third.
The Japanese: ”I can feel that I improve with every jump a little bit. I want to win the overall World Cup.”
Daniela Iraschko-Stolz finished second, for the fifth time this season, with 88,0 and 89,0 metres, resulting in 238,9 points. The defending overall World Cup winner afterwards: “I had to work on my feeling, but I can still jump better than today. My landing in Oslo was not the best. I made a mistake in the air and I can feel that it was not good for my knee again.”
Maren Lundby showed jumps of 87,5 and 89,0 metres and finished third, in her third podium placement this season so far, with 238,5 points. The Norwegian: ”I am trying to enjoy jumping and I will try my best tomorrow again.” Best Slovene was Maja Vtic, who finished fourth, with jumps of 88,0 and 86,5 metres and 232,2 points.” She was followed by World Champion Carina Vogt, who was happy about her results, one day after her 24th birthday. Vogt finished with 88,5 and 86,5 metres in fifth place, together with Russia´s Irina Avvakumova. Avvakumova, who was third in Oslo this week, showed strong jumps of 85,5 and 87,5 metres again.
It was a satisfying home match for the Austrian athletes. Jaqueline Seifriedsberger (229,7 points) and Chiara Hölzl (226,6 points) jumped to places 8 and 9. Ema Klinec finished ninth with 225,1 points, Nita Englund was happy about 223,0 points for the US-team and completed the top ten. The winner of the qualification Spela Rogelj jumped to place 11 and her team made Ursa Bogataj completed the strong Slovenian team performance as 12th.
The Japanese ladies lost points in the nations cup, despite the win of Sara Takanashi. Only Yuka Seto and Yuki Ito could collect points for the Japanese team. Seto jumped to place 15, following Julia Clair and the best Italian Elena Runggaldier. Ito finished 20th. Canada´s Taylor Henrich could stay ahead of Germany`s trio of Katharina Althaus, Juliane Seyfarth and Anna Rupprecht in places 17 to 19. The Czech Zdenka Pesatova was satisfied with her best World Cup result so far, finishing 21st. Daniela Haralambie collected points for Romania as 24th and the 17-year old Claudia Purker was happy about a successful World Cup debut with a 26th place.
The second individual competition of the FIS Ski Jumping Ladies in Hinzenbach starts on Sunday, 12:30 pm.
