Heidi Weng of Norway is starting to get very comfortable in the Ski Tour Canada leader's bib with another victory on stage 6 in Canmore. Weng broke away early with her teammate Therese Johaug and the duo skied all the way to the finish together in the ladies 15 km Skiathlon event. Unlike many mass start events we have seen in the past few seasons where one athlete is quite a bit in front it was a battle to the line between Johaug and Weng and the chasing pack never fell back more than 20 seconds throughout the competition. Leading the chasing group in was Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen +9.8 seconds back to take third place. The Finnish ladies' team put in another strong performance with 4 athletes in the top 8.

ATHLETES QUOTES
Heidi Weng, NOR
I tried to keep the pace with Therese and to ski away from the chasing group. We worked together and it was a great fight between me and Therese.
Therese Johaug, NOR
Heidi was very strong and I probably did not have the best day. The course was tough. Heidi and I worked together, we had a only 10 seconds on the chasing group. I am only 3 seconds behind Heidi in the Ski Tour. Friday’s competition will be really important. It is still open for the victory in the Ski Tour Canada.
Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, NOR
I was struggling in the classic part. I was tired and I though it would not be a good day. But it got much better in the free technique and especially in the last lap. I saved some energy for the finish and I am happy it worked out.
