Rohrer and Podladtchikov Swiss halfpipe champs

Verena Rohrer and Iouri Podladtchikov have claimed the Swiss halfpipe title in Laax, Switzerland after the nationals were brought forward by two weeks from Corvatsch and re-scheduled in the super pipe at Crap Sogn Gion due to outstanding snow conditions at site.

Facing strong winds and therefore not the easiest weather conditions Rohrer secured her third career's national title with 80.00 points ahead of Ursina Haller (74.80) and Sina Candrian (71.80).

“It's great to wrap up the season with a win. It wasn't easy today, so I'm happy that I was able to land my run,” said the rider from Sattel.

In the men's competition, it was a tight battle between team veterans Iouri Podladtchikov and Christian Haller, with the better end for the former one.

The reigning Olympic champion impressed the judges with a michalchuck and a frontside 900 amongst other tricks earning a 86.20 and edging off Haller, who got a 85.70, to the runner-up position.

Dario Burch (76.30) rounded out the podium as third.
