The Swedish team took all 12 podiums Saturday's classic mass start competitions at the FIS Rolleski World Cup in Sollefteå (SWE).
Organizing Sollefteå Ski Club made a very good arrangement when they managed to coordinate closing the main roads in town. The races were conducted with a loop course with a different number of laps for the classes down in town and then ended with the famous climb up to Hallstaberget for the finish.
In the women's juniors Moa Olsson showed great skiing when she clearly won ahead of home racer Jenny Solin. Malin Boerjesjoe was third after a tough battle with Moa Lundgren who took four.
In the men's junior class, it was an unexpected victory of Gabriel Strid, who in his second World Cup start got to step at the top of the podium. World Cup leader Marcus Fredriksson finished second and Adam Persson were fine third. "It was a wet but fun day." Was Strid’s comment to the victory in the rain after finishing the race.
Women's class was won by Britta Johansson, which made her debut in this year's World Cup and won right away, at home ground. Sandra Olsson, finished second after having climbed very well up Hallstaberget were she passed the final third-place Evelina Settlin.
The men's class was exciting since much of the starting field came together when the climb began. Once there, the Robin Norum, put in a higher gear and could claim the victory. Second was Erik Silfver, and he therefore reiterated the position from yesterday. Marcus Ruus, was third after having gone away from deserving Jorgen Brink, in the final of the race.
In the overall World Cup the Swedish Rollerski team now has all the leader bibs. Emma Larsson, Marcus Fredriksson and Robin Norum successfully defended their bibs and Sandra Olsson regained the lead in the women's class.
