COC: Markus Eisenbichler's winning streak continues

After his success on Saturday, Markus Eisenbichler was also the best in the second ski jumping competition of the Continental Cup in Stams (AUT) on Sunday.

The German, from whom this win was his third in a row, showed jumps of 113 m and 114.5 m in the Austrian ski jumping center that earned him a total of 253.8 points. "It was a great weekend for me. I'm in a pretty good shape right now and I always jump well on this hill", said the dominator of this weekend.

The second place on Sunday went to local hero Stefan Kraft. The 4-Hills-Tournament winner of 2015, third-best Austrian in sixth on the day before, scored 247.3 points with jumps of 111 m and 112.5 m. After the competition Stefan Kraft praised the performance of the winner. "I always said that if you are among the best in the COC, you can also be among the best in the World Cup. The way Markus Eisenbichler is jumping right now, I think he would also be capable of winning in the Grand Prix."

Rok Justin could improve his result by one place compared to this weekend's first competition and secured the third spot on the podium with 112 m and 109.5 m and 245.7 points. "It was a successful weekend for me. I enjoy jumping here in Stams. I like the hill and I'm happy about the result."

As on Saturday, the jumpers of the Austrian Ski Association presented themselves in a very good shape again. Besides Stefan Kraft, also Clemens Aigner (4th), Andreas Kofler (6th) and Manuel Fettner (9th) came in among the best ten.

After finishing third yesterday, Canada's Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes confirmed his currently excellent shape with the fifth place on Sunday. Slovenia's Domen Prevc moved up from 16th to seventh with a strong jump in the final round.

With his eighth place among the strong field of competitors, the day was a success for Italian Davide Bresadola. Best Norwegian was Robert Johansson in tenth.

Markus Eisenbichler remains in the lead of the COC overall ranking with his 382 points. Rok Justin (339 points) and Aleksander Zniszczol (268 points) are second and third.
