Anna Gasser has had what you can call a perfect streak lately.
Not only did the Austrian rider triumph in the World Cup opener in Milan (ITA), she also added back-to-back wins over the next couple of events, including the Olympic test event in Korea as well as the second of three Super Series stops which was staged in Moenchengladbach (GER) last weekend.
The 25-year-old Carinthian is therefore not only comfortably leading the big air World Cup ranking with the maximum points possible but is also already the theoretical winner of the first ever Super Series.
And in just a few days, the so far dominating woman on tour will get the chance to add another one to her belt when the world's best freestyle snowboarders descend on Copper Mountain to compete in both, a big air World Cup and this season's first halfpipe World Cup from December 14 till 17.
It will be interesting to see if the slopestyle silver medallist of the 2015 FIS world championships is able to keep the momentum and if Gasser will be able to keep on following in a fellow countryman's foot steps.
Stefan Gimpl, who was the last one to celebrate a big air World Cup three-peat, was able to lock in a winning streak of five events from February 2009 till November 2009.
The last rider to pull off the feat of a World Cup winning streak over three stops was Cheryl Maas (NED) who won both, the big air and slopestyle in Quebec (CAN) as well as the Park City (USA) slopestyle back in February 2015.
