Takanashi, Lundby and Barannikova best in training

After the qualification had to be postponed to Saturday because the Italian team is still waiting for their skis only the official training took place in Nizhny Tagil.

Longest jump at last
The longest jump of the day also was the last one: Sara Takanashi made it to 97,5 meters and might be hard to beat in Saturday´s competition. But also the locals can be positive. Anastasiya Barannikova won the first training round with her effort to 92,5 meters. Norway´s Maren Lundby was the best in the second of three rounds with 97,0 meters.

Ito struggling, Althaus strong
While Japan´s Yuki Ito, twice second in Lillehammer, was still struggling, Germany´s Katharina Althaus proved herself in a good shape with distances of 94,5 and 93,5 meters. Sarah Hendrickson from the United States is getting more and steadier and might compete for the podium on Saturday and Sunday after very good 94,0 meters.

Klinec on a good way - historic Kazakhstan
Slovenia´s Ema Klinec also is approaching her best shape and scored 93,5 and 92,0 meters. Most likely nothing to do with the podium but still a historic participant is Valentina Sderzhikova who is competing as the first lady from Kazakhstan at the FIS World Cup Ladies Ski Jumping.

Tomorrow’s qualification will start at 3.30 pm (11.30 am CET). The competition is supposed to start at 5.00 pm (1.00 pm CET).
