Marcus Johansson and Ksenia Konohova won the FIS Rollerski World Cup 2014
The Team Sprint events have brought the curtains down on the 2014 FIS Rollerski World Cup yesterday. After the first stages in Croatia and Sweden, the alpine valley of Val di Fiemme, Italy hosted the last three competitions of the season.
Marcus Johansson of Sweden claimed the Overall cup, on the ladies' side Russia's Ksenia Konohova took the overall victory. In Junior rankings, Russia’s Andrey Nischakov and Olga Letucheva seized the trophy and Russia eventually won the Team title.
The Team Sprint competitions on Sunday took place in the tiny village of Ziano di Fiemme, Italy’s Stürz and Vuerich conquered the first place after a breath-taking race in which they got rid of Russians and Swedes in the very last lap. On the men’s side, Sweden’s Johansson and Gustafsson grabbed the victory ahead of Russians and Italians. Germany and Russia have won the Junior races.
