With the end of the Christmas time, the first period of the Nordic Combined Contest 2014/15 is history and it’s off to new challenges for all fans.

The Slovenian team for the 4-Hills-Tournament was announced at a press conference in Planica earlier this week.

A total of 13 athletes will represent the German team at the two home competitions in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Besides the World Cup team, a national group will also get the chance to compete there. 

Good news for the Polish ski jumping team: Kamil Stoch will be able to compete in the 4-Hills-Tournament. 

After leaving the World Cup event in Ramsau am Dachstein posthaste with a helicopter last night to fly to Baden Baden, it was a close call but no cigar for Eric Frenzel. In the big televised award gala, he had to concede defeat to the European Champion in discus throwing, Robert Harting, at the prestigious „Sportler des Jahres“ award.

After the good news from Oberstdorf, there are now also positive reports coming from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. 

With Janne Ahonen and Wolfgang Loitzl, two former 4-Hills-Tournament winners will not be participating in the opener of this year's 4-Hills in Oberstdorf.
