Last week-end was not only the World Cup Finals in Aspen, but the European Cup season also came to an end in the Italian resort Innichen – S. Candido, where the concluding tech events were held.  After a total of 73 races, Norwegian Kristina Riis-Johannessen and Swiss Gilles Roulin topped the rankings and claimed the Overall titles.

And just like that, the 2016/17 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup season is over after back-to-back big air competitions on Friday and Saturday in Norway’s Myrkdalen resort.

2014 Olympic champions Eva Samkova (CZE) and Pierre Vaultier (FRA) have claimed the 2016-17 season's SBX World Cup title after holding their main rivals for the Crystal Globe at bay in the tour's ultimate race's finals which were staged in perfect conditions on the high speed course of Veysonnaz.

Zoi Sadowski Synnott (NZL) and Chris Corning (USA) have triumphed in the 2016-17 season's slopestyle World Cup finale which was staged at the Snowjam.cz in Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republic today.

The team of Norway, with Robert Johansson, Johann Andre Forfang, Anders Fannemel and Andreas Stjernen, won the final team competition of the 2016/17 season on Saturday with 1551.6 points.

With the season closing out soon, Swiss riders have met in Laax to find out who is the best of the strong halfpipe nation.

The last event of the Sierra Nevada 2017 Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships went down on Sunday, with Tess Ledeux (FRA) and Mcrae Williams wrapping up two successful weeks in Spain with gold slopestyle medals.

Kamil Stoch of Poland won Sunday's Ski Flying event on the "Monsterbakken" in Vikersund. In an extremely exciting competition, Stoch had jumps of 238.5 m and 237 m (466.6 points) and took the win ahead of Noriaki Kasai of Japan (239.5 m and 241.5 m; 448.0 points) and Austria's Michael Hayboeck (241.5 m and 222.5 m; 430.4 points).

Adrian Pertl of Austria secured gold in the final event of the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships in Åre (SWE). 

History was written in Spain today when French riders Nelly Moenne Loccoz and Chloe Trespeuch on the ladies' side and US men Hagen Kearney and Nick Baumgartner were crowned the first ever Team SBX World Champions at the Sierra Nevada 2017 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships.
