Thomas Morgenstern: First jumps since Sochi

Welcome to the 500th edition of FIS Newsflash. Such milestones are a perfect opportunity to both reflect on the past and look ahead to the future. It is with a sense of satisfaction for the accomplishments of International Ski Federation that I look back at my last term as President, but it is also with a great desire to further evolve our organisation and sports that I look ahead at the next four years.
Swiss Ski General Assembly

Last Saturday the 110th Assembly of Delegates of Swiss Ski was held. In total 340 delegates were present, including guests such as FIS President Gian Franco Kasper and Jorg Schild, President of Swiss Olympic.

The 79th General Assembly of the Austrian Ski Association was held from 26th-27th June 2014 in Lech am Arlberg. During the assembly, FIS Council Member Peter Schröcksnadel was re-elected as President of the Austrian Ski Association for the period of 2014-2017.
'Night of Fire' celebrations in Oberhofen

Today, FIS headquarters sits in the thriving village of Oberhofen, Switzerland on the scenic Lake of Thun. But 150 years ago, the village was nearly completely destroyed when a fire ripped through the town burning nearly everything in its path.

A season 2013/14 final report by Repucom summarising the TV coverage of the Cross-Country, Ski Jumping, Nordic Combined, Alpine Skiing, Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard FIS World Cups showed that the overall total broadcasting time amounted to almost 7’500 hours.
AIOWF and IOC meet for Sochi 2014 Debrief

The seven International Winter Sports Federations on the programme of the Olympic Winter Games met with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne (SUI) for the Debrief of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th June 2014.
