COC in Garmisch-Partenkirchen canceled

The Continental Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER), that should have taken place there next weekend, was canceled due to a lack of snow and the unfavourable weather forecast. 
Extended IOC Membership for Gian Franco Kasper

On 9th December, the IOC Session approved a proposal from the IOC Executive Board, in consultation with the IOC Nominations Commission, for the extension of the term of IOC membership for FIS President Gian Franco Kasper until the end of his term of presidency in June 2018.

Due to the continuous warmer temperatures in the federal state of Vorarlberg there is still not enough snow for the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup opener in Montafon scheduled for the 18th and 19th of December. 
Carezza World Cup opener postponed

Due to the continuous warm temperatures and the lack of snow, the FIS Snowboard World Cup Parallel Giant Slalom in Carezza had to be postponed for a few days until Tuesday, December 16th. 
Val Thorens Audi ski cross World Cup postponed

The second Audi ski cross World Cup event of the season, scheduled to take place from December 11-13 in Val Thorens (FRA), has been postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions in the region.
Green light for Nizhniy Tagil

The first World Cup in Nizhniy Tagil (RUS) got the green light after the official snow control.
