After a successful meeting between FIS Chief Race Directors Guenter Hujara and Atle Skaardal and representatives of the Austrian Ski Association on September 3rd, the proposal for Innsbruck to host a Nations Team Event this upcoming February has been confirmed.

With the start of the Olympic season just around the corner in addition to the upcoming IOC Session in September, it has been a busy summer for FIS President Gian Franco Kasper. FIS Newsflash took a moment to sit down with him to look ahead to the exciting future. In the first part of the two-part series, Kasper talks about Sochi and the Olympic movement.

Norway’s Tiril Sjaastad Christiansen and USA’s Nick Goepper from USA won the ladies and men’s events at the FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup slopestyle in Cardrona, New Zealand. It was the grand finale of this year’s Audi Quattro Winter Games NZ.
