Meet a Legend: Beckie Scott

Canada’s Beckie Scott became the first Canadian and indeed first North American to win an Olympic Gold medal in Cross-Country Skiing at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City (USA).

20th FIS Grand Prix starts at Hinterzarten

After the FIS Grand Prix started in Wisla, Poland, last summer, the opener of this summer series with the world's best ski jumpers will take place in Hinterzarten (GER) again this year. Like already last year, men and women will compete in Hinterzarten.

The disciplines of Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard share not only some of the same infrastructure on the slopes with the events of pipe, cross and slope, but also in terms of television coverage which has seen a significant rise in the past season. Recent broadcast figures provided by TV & marketing rights holder Infront Sports & Media, which measures the TV transmissions by its licensed broadcasters around the world have highlighted some of the growing trends in both disciplines.
