National team rosters for France, Swede, Finland for World Cup in Lillehammer

It was a thrilling weekend in Lake Louise. The hero of the first speed races of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup 2015/16 was definitely Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal.

The World’s best technical ski racers from 19 different nations had a chance to compete on the technical and steep slope in Aspen for the second straight day.

The long waiting has come to an end, and the first Audi FIS Ski World Cup speed race of the season has been staged today in beautiful Lake Louise (CAN). After three training runs, there were a lot of speculations about potential winners, but I the end, the athletes have to bring on their performance on D-Day. And that’s what Aksel Lund Svindal did best.

As the winner of the last 5 FIS World Cup Tour competitions, Norway's Martin Johnsrud Sundby is back in familiar territory as the leader of the Ruka Triple mini-tour. Sundby won the men's 10 km free technique interval start competition by +11.2 second ahead of Alex Harvey of Canada and Dario Cologna of Switzerland in third +11.6 seconds back.

Therese Johaug of Norway has won the 5 km free technique interval start competition on day two of the Ruka Triple.

The conditions changed for the second run as visibility got worse when snow started to come down. Third after the 1st run, Switzerland's Lara Gut didn't mind it and blazed through the course in a combined time of 2:02.51 to claim the win, after a breathtaking end of the race that saw leader of the 1st run Mikaela Shiffrin crash three gates before the finish line.

Maiken Caspersen Falla and Sondre Turvoll Fossli both of Norway have won the opening competition of the 2015-16 FIS World Cup season.
