The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) announced that Solitude Mountain Resort will host the snowboardcross and ski cross events for the 2019 FIS Freestyle and Snowboard World Championships.

On 4th August 2016, at the 129th IOC Session in Rio de Janeiro (BRA), FIS President Gian Franco Kasper was elected to the IOC Executive Board as the representative of the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF).

During the FIS Technical Committee Meetings from 27th September-1st October 2016 in Zurich (SUI), Committees from the various FIS disciplines will meet to put the final touches on the plans for the upcoming season.

Following a meeting on 27th July 2016 chaired by newly elected President Patrick Baumann, the appointment of Members to the SportAccord Council was confirmed as proposed by its stakeholders, which includes FIS President Gian Franco Kasper as one of the two Winter Federation representatives:

Proposals for members of the Snowboard Freestyle and Freeski Committee and the four new Sub-Committees should be submitted by the National Ski Associations by 30th September 2016, using the FIS Committee Member Manager tool.

For the 15th time, the FIS Technical Committee Meetings will be held at the customary location of the Hilton Zurich Airport Hotel (SUI).

The past 10 days have been filled with more appalling news in the fight against doping and further damaged the already tarnished reputation of sport.

FIS has officially confirmed the adding of Milan to the 2016-17 World Cup calendar.

Everything is set for another great snowboard cross World Cup opener in the up-coming season as things are fixed for Montafon which has set the bar for outstanding SBX racing high over the past years.
