Hyundai & Kia Motors has agreed to officially support the successful hosting of the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games as a domestic sponsor, Hyundai will provide automobiles to support transportation operations for the PyeongChang 2018 Organizing Committee.

FIS Snowboard Assistant Race Director Roberto Moresi was in PyeongChang last week to evaluate potential venues together with the PyeongChang Olympic Organising Committee (POCOG).

The cities of Brasov (ROU) and Lausanne (SUI) are bidding to host the 3rd edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games in 2020.

The Olympic Movement is looking ahead to the 128th IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur (MAS) from 30th July – 3rd August 2015 when the International Olympic Committee will elect Almaty (KAZ) or Beijing (CHN) to stage the Olympic Winter Games in 2022.

The 2016 Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer (NOR) unveiled its medal design for the upcoming Games.

The ongoing work preparing for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games plays an important role for each of the FIS disciplines, as well as the general organisational aspects collaborating closely with the IOC.

FIS and IOC representatives along with medical doctors, scientists and researchers, national team staff, course builders and designers met on 18th and 19th June 2015 at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne (SUI).

On 16th June 2015, the IOC announced its latest Ambassadors to support the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer 2016 (YOG). Snowboard slopestyle athlete Silje Norendal (NOR) and ice hockey player Mats Zuccarello (NOR) will join fellow Ambassadors Lindsey Vonn (USA) and Kjetil Jansud (NOR) in inspiring athletes and young fans to get active and be part of the second edition of the Winter YOG taking place in February 2016.

On 31st May, the International Olympic Committee announced the composition of its working commissions for 2015 which guide the IOC and the Organising Committees for the Olympic Games in their missions.

The International Olympic Committee’s Executive Board met on Monday, 8th June, and announced that the Alpine Team Event and Snowboard Big Air will join the programme for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang (KOR).
