Freund flies to victory, Fannemel to the record

Severin Freund won the second ski flying in Vikersund. Local hero Anders Fannemel, who set another world record on this spectacular weekend with 251.5 m in the first round, finished second and with Johann Andre Forfang and Rune Velta also the third and fourth place went to Norway.

Anna Holmlund (SWE) capped off a huge weekend for the host Swedish squad and Jean-Frederic Chapuis (FRA) made good on his promise from yesterday, as the two fastest skiers from qualifications were able to run the table and take wins in the second Audi ski cross World Cup races of the weekend in Are, Sweden.
Krogh wins two in a row in Östersund

Finn Hagen Krogh has won his second World Cup in two days in Östersund, Sweden. Today’s victory in the 15 km free technique was his first ever World Cup distance win and his third win this season.

Ligety wins gold medal in giant slalom

Vail-Beaver Creek, Colorado – The technical male skiers came into play on Friday to battle it out in the giant slalom under sunny skies and ideal conditions. In fifth place after the opening run on a turny and technical course with a lot of tempo changes, which is not his favourite type of set, defending champion Ted Ligety fought back in the second run.

Austria takes Team Event title in Vail

Today at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2015 the action moved from Beaver Creek to Vail for the Nation’s Team Event with Austria (Eva-Maria Brem, Nicole Hosp, Michaela Kirchgasser, Marcel Hirscher, Christoph Noesig, Philipp Schoerghofer ) taking the gold medal. It is the fourth gold medal for the Austrians at these championships.
Maze earns second World Championship gold medal

As the last skier down the mountain, Slovenia’s Tina Maze spoiled the Austrian party as she won the gold medal, topping Nicole Hosp by 0.22 seconds in the ladies’ Alpine Combined a the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Beaver Creek.
