With the beginning of June, the Calendar Conference in Varna, Bulgaria approaches fast and next to the traditional confirmation of the final versions of the calendars, there are numerous points on the Nordic Combined agenda.

FIS Cross-Country Race Director Pierre Mignerey took a moment to reflect on the past season from the World Cup through the Tour de Ski to the World Championships, again it was an action-packed year.

For the first time, Rasnov (ROU) will welcome the world’s top Nordic skiers as the FIS Junior & U23 Nordic World Ski Championships will take place there in February 2016.

Joining SnowKidz in 2014, Stream Eventos is based in São Paulo (BRA)and focuses on the organisation and coordination of events.

In two weeks, the FIS Calendar Conference 2015 will take place in Varna (BUL) starting on Wednesday, 3rd June 2015. The Bulgarian Ski Association as well as the staff of the International Hotel Casino & Tower Suites in Golden Sands look forward to welcoming the FIS family.

Marit Bjørgen and Martin Johnsrud Sundby (both NOR) dominated not only last years’s FIS Cross-Country World Cup and the FIS Tour de Ski, but also topped the prize money list standing of the last season.

FIS President Gian Franco Kasper said: “We are extremely pleased to announce the 5th edition of World Snow Day. The still young event has developed every year with an increasing number of Organisers and participants and we look forward to its’ continuing growth.”

Less than one year ago, Elena Gaja was appointed the Chair of the Sub-Committee for Alpine Courses. Ahead of the upcoming Calendar Conference in Varna (BUL), Gaja visited the FIS Office in Oberhofen (SUI) to prepare for the Sub-Committee meeting and report on a busy year.

The Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard preparations for PyeongChang 2018 at Phoenix Park are in focus these days with a major inspection by FIS. Joe Fitzgerald and Martin Fiala for Freestyle Skiing along with the Snowboarding staff Uwe Beier and Roberto Moresi are meeting with members of the Organising Committee and the International Olympic Committee.
