Tchekaleva gets first World Cup victory

Yulia Tchekaleva of Russia has won her first ever World Cup with her victory in the Rybinsk in the ladies’ 15km Skiathlon. Her winning time of 44:16.0 gave her a +15.6 second margin over second place finisher Martine Ek Hagen of Norway. In third place was Finland’s Riitta-Liissa Roponen +22.9 behind.

The final event of the Kreischberg 2015 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships ended 12 days of competition off in truly epic fashion, with a thrilling ski cross competition that saw Andrea Limbacher (AUT) and Filip Flisar (SLO) claim the final gold medals of the Championships.

Daniela Iraschko-Stolz also won the second ladies' competition in Oberstdorf. With 97.5 m and 89.5 m and 234.3 points, the Austrian came in ahead of local hero Carina Vogt again. Canadian Taylor Henrich achieved the first podium result of her career in third.

Olympic Champion Carina Vogt missed the home victory in Oberstdorf, but she came in on a very good second place behind Austrian Daniela Iraschko-Stolz. The third place went to Sara Takanashi.

The snowboard medal events concluded today at the FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships at Kreischberg with a big air contest which earned his well-deserved spot in the history books.
Roman Koudelka the best in Sapporo

Roman Koudelka took his fourth win this season in Sapporo. The Czech won in Japan with jumps on 133 m and 132 m and 282.9 points, followed by Kamil Stoch and Peter Prevc, the winner of Saturday's competition.

Peter Prevc took his first win this season at the World Cup in Sapporo. The Slovene posted jumps on 130 m and 131 m and with 276.4 points he finished ahead of Stefan Kraft and Roman Koudelka.
