EBU strikes deal with U.S. broadcasters for Austrian FIS Ski World Cups

The EBU and Universal Sports Network have reached a deal on media rights to expand coverage across the USA for the 2015/16 and 2016/17 FIS Ski World Cups to be held in Austria.

From 10th-12th November 2014, FIS Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard officials Joe Fitzgerald, Martin Fiala, Uwe Beier and Roberto Moresi, POCOG sport manager Yeon Chae, and venue designer Ecosign with Dave Felius attended their fifth inspection in PyeongChang (KOR) as part of the venue development of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

The FIS Council held its’ Autumn Meeting at the FIS Headquarters in Oberhofen (SUI) on Tuesday 18th November and dealt with a full agenda, including reports from Organising Committees for the FIS World Championships and Olympic Winter Games, the appointment of technical officials and proposals from the FIS Technical Committees.

Last year the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Organisers in Levi (FIN) started the tradition of awarding the winners with a Lapland reindeer. Mikaela Shiffrin and Marcel Hirscher became proud owners of two baby reindeers they named Rudolf and Ferdinand, respectively
