Beaver Creek provided a dream backdrop for today’s ladies‘ downhill race at the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championship presented by Audi as Tina Maze (SLO) and Anna Fenninger (AUT) provided another entertaining duel for first and second place.

What a difference a day makes. After the men’s super-G at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championship presented by Audi was postponed yesterday due to heavy snowfall and high winds, today’s re-scheduled race was staged under dream conditions with blue skies and a well-prepared course. 

The following six athletes have been nominated to represent Austria at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun, Sweden.

Audi FIS ski cross World Cup action gets back underway this week with a pair of races slated for Friday and Saturday in beautiful Arosa, Switzerland. 

Alexey Chervotkin led the Russian podium sweep of the men's 10 km free technique competition at the FIS Nordic Jr World Ski Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The Norwegian national Championships on the large hill were held on the Holmenkollen in Oslo on Tuesday. 

The ladies have had to be patient in the lead-up to the opening race at the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado, but today after a bit of a delay, they had their chance to shine as Anna Fenninger (AUT) captured the first gold medal of the Championships in the super-G. 

Germany's Victoria Carl and Norway's Fredrik Riseth are the 2015 FIS World Junior cross-country ski champions in the 1.3km classic sprint competition in Almaty, Kazakhstan. 

Carina Vogt won the second individual competition in Hinzenbach. 

Severin Freund won the final competition in Willingen and achieved the third podium result for Germany in the third competition in front of the home crowd.
